I've mentioned the Chevron-Ecuador legal battle several times in the past –
most recently here. Now it seems possible the latest court hearing the arguments (the US Second Circuit Court of Appeals) may feel that the whole thing is such a mess that it's best just to return to square one and start over.
On Monday, Circuit Judge Richard Wesley called the case "unmanageable." [...]
Wesley asked if a solution might be to rewind the clock to have the case tried in New York as the Ecuadorians originally wanted.
"Why not order a retrial?" he asked. "Why not cleanse the question of fraud?"
